Publication Ethics

The Global Journal of Engineering and Technology Research (GJETR) is committed to upholding the highest standards of publication ethics based on internationally recognized frameworks, including the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines and best practices in scholarly publishing. These principles ensure the integrity, transparency, and credibility of every article we publish, fostering trust among authors, reviewers, editors, and readers.

Duties and Responsibilities

Authors

  • Originality and Plagiarism: Authors must ensure submitted work is original, has not been published elsewhere, and is not under consideration by any other journal. Proper citation and acknowledgment of others’ works are mandatory. All manuscripts are subject to rigorous plagiarism checks.

  • Data Integrity: Research data must be presented accurately and with sufficient detail to allow reproducibility. Fabrication, falsification, or intentional omission of data constitutes unethical behavior and will not be tolerated.

  • Authorship: Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research and manuscript should be listed as authors. All listed authors must approve the final version and agree to its submission.

  • Conflicts of Interest: Authors must disclose any financial or non-financial conflicts that could influence the interpretation of their data and findings.

  • Corrections: If significant errors or inaccuracies are discovered post-publication, authors are obliged to promptly notify the journal and cooperate with editors to issue corrections or retractions as appropriate.

Editors

  • Impartiality: Editorial decisions are based solely on scholarly merit, relevance, originality, and clarity, without regard to authors’ race, gender, nationality, institutional affiliation, or political beliefs.

  • Confidentiality: Editors and staff will not disclose information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, and relevant editorial board members.

  • Fair Review: Manuscripts are evaluated through a rigorous, double-blind peer review process by qualified experts to ensure objectivity and fairness.

  • Conflict of Interest: Editors and editorial staff must recuse themselves from decisions where conflicts of interest exist regarding the manuscript under consideration.

Reviewers

  • Confidentiality: Reviewers must keep all details of the manuscript confidential and refrain from using information gained through peer review for personal advantage.

  • Objectivity: Reviews should be conducted objectively, with clear, constructive, and unbiased feedback supporting editorial decisions.

  • Disclosure of Conflicts: Any conflicts of interest must be declared immediately to the editorial office, and reviewers should recuse themselves from reviewing relevant submissions.

Publisher

  • Integrity and Transparency: GJETR ensures that commercial or financial considerations do not influence editorial decisions. The publisher is dedicated to protecting intellectual property rights and the integrity of the academic record.

  • Ethical Oversight: All suspected cases of ethical misconduct, including plagiarism, falsification, and duplicate publication, are thoroughly investigated following COPE flowcharts and industry best practices. Proven cases may lead to correction, retraction, or expression of concern as necessary.

Research Conduct

  • Ethical Approvals: For studies involving human or animal subjects, authors must include statements of ethical approval from recognized boards or committees, along with details of informed consent where applicable.

  • Data Availability: Authors should retain research data for a reasonable period and make it available to editors or reviewers if requested, provided the confidentiality and legal rights of subjects are safeguarded.

  • Reporting Standards: Manuscripts must adhere to rigorous reporting standards and include all relevant controls, references, and methodologies.

Handling Misconduct

GJETR follows a strict zero-tolerance policy regarding all publishing malpractices, including:

  • Plagiarism or self-plagiarism

  • Data fabrication or falsification

  • Unethical or undisclosed conflicts of interest

  • Multiple, redundant, or concurrent submissions

All allegations are investigated in line with established COPE procedures, and corrective action (erratum, retraction, or ban) will be taken where necessary.
