At the Global Journal of Engineering and Technology Research (GJETR), we maintain a strict, zero-tolerance policy on plagiarism to ensure the integrity and originality of the research we publish. What Constitutes Plagiarism?

Plagiarism is the act of presenting others' work, ideas, data, or words as one’s own, intentionally or otherwise, without proper acknowledgment. GJETR considers the following actions as plagiarism:

  • Direct copying: Submitting text, figures, or tables from another source without citation or quotation.

  • Paraphrasing without acknowledgment: Rewriting or summarizing another’s ideas or data without giving proper credit.

  • Self-plagiarism: Republishing substantial parts of one’s own previous work without citation or proper disclosure.

  • Data manipulation or fabrication: Presenting falsified or duplicated data as original research.

Plagiarism Screening and Detection

  • All submitted manuscripts undergo thorough plagiarism screening using advanced plagiarism detection software prior to peer review.

  • The editorial team reviews similarity reports to assess overlap with published literature.

  • Manuscripts found with unacceptable levels of similarity (typically above 15%) may be rejected outright or returned to authors for revision.

Author Responsibilities

  • Authors must ensure that every part of their submission is original or clearly and appropriately cited.

  • Where text, ideas, images, codes, or data are taken from others (including the authors’ own previous works), accurate citations and permissions must be provided.

  • Authors should avoid excessive quotations and should write in their own words wherever possible.

Handling Suspected Plagiarism

  • If plagiarism is detected at any stage (before or after publication), the manuscript will be immediately investigated.

  • Authors will be notified, and appropriate action will be taken based on severity—including rejection, withdrawal, temporary or permanent ban from publishing with GJETR, and notification to affiliated institutions.

  • For published articles found to involve plagiarism, formal retraction will be issued and readers will be notified.

GJETR encourages all authors to:

  • Check their own manuscripts using professional plagiarism detection tools before submission.

  • Familiarize themselves with ethical writing and citation standards.

  • Seek advice from the editorial office when in doubt about proper attribution.
