Authorship and Contribution

The Global Journal of Engineering and Technology Research (GJETR) upholds transparent, ethical, and rigorous standards for the assignment of authorship and acknowledgment of contributions in all published works. Proper attribution reflects the true intellectual ownership of research and ensures that all contributors receive appropriate credit.

Authorship Criteria

To qualify as an author of a manuscript submitted to GJETR, individuals must meet all the following criteria:

  • Substantial Contributions to the conception or design of the work; or acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data.

  • Drafting the article or critically revising it for important intellectual content.

  • Final Approval of the version to be published.

  • Accountability for all aspects of the work, ensuring questions related to the accuracy or integrity of any part are appropriately investigated and resolved.

Individuals who do not meet all four criteria but have contributed in other meaningful ways (e.g., data collection, technical support, language editing) should be listed in the Acknowledgments section.

Order of Authors

  • The sequence of authors should accurately reflect the level of responsibility and contribution to the work.

  • All authors must agree on the author order prior to submission.

  • Changes to author order or authorship after submission require a written request signed by all listed authors.

Corresponding Author

  • One author should be designated as the corresponding author to handle all communications with GJETR during submission, review, and publication.

  • The corresponding author is responsible for ensuring that all co-authors have reviewed and approved the final manuscript and submission details.

Contributorship Statement

  • All manuscripts must include a Contributorship Statement specifying the individual contributions of each author (e.g., conceptualization, methodology, formal analysis, writing—original draft, supervision).

  • This information must be provided both in the manuscript and during submission.

Acknowledgment of Non-Authors

  • Contributors who do not meet authorship criteria (e.g., administrative support, general supervision, funding acquisition) should be listed in the Acknowledgments, with their permission.

Conflict of Interest

  • All authors must disclose any possible conflicts of interest relating to the content of the submission in both the manuscript and the covering letter.

Authorship Changes

  • Requests for adding or removing authors post-submission must be justified, signed by all parties, and include an explanation to the editorial office. GJETR reserves the right to reject changes without sufficient cause.

Misconduct and Disputes

  • GJETR strictly prohibits “guest,” “gift,” or “ghost” authorship.

  • In cases of dispute or suspected authorship malpractice, the journal will follow Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines for investigation and resolution.

Responsibilities of Authors

  • Ensure transparency and fairness in attribution.

  • Agree to and be accountable for their contributions.

  • Cooperate with any inquiries related to authorship or content integrity.
